Brionvega and Aldo Cibic

Brionvega

The leading audio brand, Brionvega, was founded in 1945 and is headquartered in Pordenone, Italy. Since the 1960s Brionvega has started its art of design, writing stories of creativity, large-scale, highly individual and fashionable products.

Timeless industrial design has become a unique style. The talented designers Achille and Pier Giacomo have overturned the concept of electronic masses, making the radiofonografo with an innovative design a symbol of Italian and artisanal design.

Born in 1965, Brionvega radiofonografo rr226 is still considered one of the most beautiful works in the history of Italian design.

The appearance of the radiofonografo exudes the charm of retro. With its inherent excellent sound quality and movable sound modules that are more adaptable to the surrounding environment, the entire internal system completely creates an interesting and exciting listening experience.

The carefully selected wooden material makes a superior sense and provides an elegant and refined environment for music appreciation. radiofonografo is not only a multifunctional turntable, but also a quality piece of furniture that can accompany you for a long life.

Each radiofonografo is a unique handcrafted work. After an extremely precise manufacturing process, the skilled artisans of Brionvega use their ingenuity to transform it into a truly unique product. Each step reflects the Italian artisan tradition.

Aldo Cibic

The architect and designer Aldo Cibic, born in Vicenza, Italy in 1955, is also one of the founders of Memphis. In 1977 he moved to Milan, started a collaboration with Ettore Sottsass and became one of the co-founders of the constitution of the Memphis Group.

In 1989 he founded his own studio Cibic & Partners and collaborated with many universities at the same time at the Politecnico di Milano and at the Venice Architecture University and at the same time he was a professor at Shanghai Tongji University.

As a result of participating in many international urban architecture and interior design projects, Aldo Cibic often travels internationally. In an interview, he claimed to have three residences around the world, but his favorite is his home in Shanghai. In this old community with a history of over 60 years, Aldo Cibic can not only talk about the future with young people, but also experience the true traditional Shanghai lifestyle.

Aldo Cibic always believes that the residence does not have to be large, as long as it meets the needs. Aldo's Shanghai residence is also a small house, but he designed it to be very warm and comfortable. From the use of colors, to the contours of the lines, to the choice of products for the home, his unique artistic taste and his profound design skills are reflected everywhere.

Aldo Cibic & Brionvega

In the Shanghai residence of Aldo Cibic, the white Brionvega radio station in the center of the house attracts attention. As a classic product in the history of Italian design, Aldo has deliberately chosen to use it to create an Italian atmosphere for a home in a foreign land.

The Memphis Movement

The Memphis Movement is a famous design movement that began in the 1980s and is one of the internationally recognized representatives of postmodern design trends.

From the 1950s to the 1970s, minimalist and modernist structure and line styles were very well established. But Memphis thinking focused on "radical, funny and barbaric" and ignored the so-called "good taste" considerations of the time.

Memphis rebelled against inherent design concepts, focusing on decoration, individuality and the humanistic ideas of design, completely abandoning the colorless geometric shapes and functionalist Art Deco style. The pop art color and kitsch visual art of the 1950s inspired them. Unusual aesthetics.
