Following on from successful product launches like the

BuzziHood and the BuzziHub, Alain Gilles has conjured up

yet another revolution from his drawing board. ‘The idea was

to rethink a design classic that reminds people of the fun

times in life: a picnic table evokes memories of summer barbecues

with friends. It is an uncomplicated, accessible object

that brings people together informally. Something they

don''t expect in the setting of a boring office environment.

Packed with possibilities

The BuzziPicnic is available in natural pale wood or elegant

dark wood. The rectangular version can be placed next to

one other to create a long, graphic element in a space.

The revolutionary aspect of the design is its ‘split level'': a

difference in levels that means you can work at two different

heights at the same table. At one side you can sit at a normal

height, and at the other you can work standing up or on a

bar stool. This presents interior designers with the challenge

of developing new possibilities for the interaction between

workers and the space they inhabit.
