Why Choose Aluminum Radiators?
Aluminium Radiators
Lightweight, Durable, Malleable, Resistant
Aluminum radiators heat up quickly, have excellent thermal conductivity, and high corrosion resistance. They are also lightweight and easy to install.
Nowadays, many materials are used for the development and manufacturing of radiators, such as steel, stainless steel, or aluminum.
Aluminum radiators are the best electric heating product because they have high corrosion resistance, quick heating times with high thermal efficiency, and are lightweight.
Why is aluminum the best material for electric radiators?
Aluminum is one of the most abundant materials on the planet, ranking third after oxygen and silicon. It is the most widespread metal on earth, accounting for about 8% of the Earth's core mass.
Aluminum is lightweight, durable, and functional. You find it in almost every aspect of your daily life. From the house you live in, to the car you drive, to the trains and planes you use for long-distance travel, to the cell phones and computers you use every day and the food and beverage containers in your refrigerator. About 75% of the aluminum produced since the aluminum industry's inception is still in use today.
Aluminum offers a rare combination of valuable properties:
• Lightweight – almost 3 times lighter than iron
• Durable – almost as strong as steel
• Malleable – easy to work with, does not magnetize, and easily forms alloys with other metals
• Corrosion-resistant – thanks to a thin surface layer of naturally generated oxide
It is also an excellent heat conductor, making it an ideal material for the manufacturing of radiators.
Aluminum can be easily shaped by hot and cold pressure. It can be rolled, stretched, and stamped. Aluminum does not catch fire, does not require special paint, and unlike plastics, it is not toxic. Furthermore, aluminum is more economical than other metals and materials and can be easily recycled. For all these reasons, we have chosen to manufacture our electric radiators from this fantastic and high-quality material.
What are the benefits of aluminum radiators?
Thermal Conductivity
Electric radiators operate by convection, where the thermal fluid or oil inside the radiator body is electrically heated, circulating in a convection current within the radiator. This then allows the aluminum radiator casing to conduct the heat into the room, also by convection, where cold air is introduced at the bottom of the radiator, warming up as it passes over and around the heated aluminum fins.
One of the main benefits of manufacturing electric radiators from aluminum is the high level of thermal conductivity it offers relative to its weight. The cost/conductivity ratio is 209 W/m.K, making it a natural choice for heating products and radiators, as it can conduct heat faster.
For example, aluminum radiators transfer the heat from the water or oil inside a radiator to the room air much faster than steel radiators. This means they require less heated water from the boiler and will be quicker to respond to changes in the room's heating needs, thus reducing any unnecessary heat loss and energy consumption. Steel radiators have lower qualities in terms of thermal conductivity and lower specific heat than aluminum.
Waterproof and Corrosion Resistant
Aluminum is waterproof, meaning it does not allow water or any other liquid to pass through. This metal is non-toxic and odorless, making it ideal for packaging sensitive products such as food or pharmaceuticals, and for manufacturing electric radiators.
Aluminum is also corrosion-resistant. This is why it is the perfect material for food or beverage cans, aeronautics, and of course, in the manufacturing of heating systems and electric radiators. It naturally generates a thin protective layer of oxide that prevents further metal contact with the environment and corrosive agents.
Various surface treatments such as anodizing, painting, or lacquering can further enhance this property.
At Carisa, we offer a wide range of colors and finishes on our aluminum electric radiators to make them as corrosion-resistant as possible. We use various artisan techniques such as high gloss painting, powder coating, and oxidation to ensure a durable finish and aesthetically pleasing appearance.
Recyclable
Aluminum is malleable and has a low melting point and low density, which allows it to be easily manufactured and recycled.
Recycled aluminum is identical to the original product. This makes it a much more cost-effective raw material for production series. Remelting aluminum requires little energy: only about 5% of the energy required to produce the initial primary metal is needed in the recycling process. This makes it an environmentally friendly product to use for radiators.
The fact that recycled aluminum can be used in the manufacturing of Carisa electric radiators reduces our carbon footprint in the manufacturing process. It also means that the product body itself can be recycled at the end of use or life for the manufacturing of other items.
