The Metro table programme has been awarded an iF Design Award 2024 in the 'Office' category. Casala and designer Erik Munnikhof are extremely proud of the iF Jury's recognition. The Metro table was rated outstanding on the criteria of idea, form, function, differentiation and impact. This prestigious award underlines Casala's ongoing commitment to innovation in design and functionality, reinforcing its position as a leading manufacturer of high-quality contract furniture.

Design

The Metro table is distinguished by its innovative construction of profiles and connecting elements, inspired by the underground tunnel system of a metropolis. These elements allow a range of shapes and sizes, tailored to the customer's needs. Designer Erik Munnikhof describes the Metro as the result of a harmonious combination of design, ergonomics and functionality, creating a table range suitable for various applications.

Table programme

Metro is a modular table programme with unlimited possibilities in terms of shape and size. The table top has a modern designed edge, available in solid oak and HPL in several decors. Metro's table legs are made of oak, steel or a combination. The electrical cabling is completely hidden from view through the frame and legs. The Metro table is available in standard, counter and standing height.

About Erik Munnikhof

Erik Munnikhof sees combining various aspects of design, from ergonomics to functionality, as a continuous process. He studied design in Delft (NL) and has since won many awards for his designs. The idea that a design can always be even better is his motivation with every assignment. Erik has been an independent designer since 2009 and also supervises students and young designers in various projects.
