New ICEHOTEL 365 features award-winning COCOON tap

October and November have been interesting months for COCOON. Last summer the Dutch designer brand for contemporary bathroom design products launched their new collection designed by renowned Dutch designer Piet Boon: an exclusive series of modern stainless steel bathroom taps, showersets and basins.

This October the Piet Boon by COCOON deck mounted tap has been awarded as the best in its category at the prestigious Archiproducts Design Awards 2016. The brushed stainless steel set consists of a deck mounted mixer and a deck mounted swivel spout and can be used for the bathroom as well as the kitchen. In order to create an industrial chique or warm rustic look in the bathroom or kitchen, the faucets are available in two unique finishings: Gunmetal Black and Raw Copper. The refined shape and different colors make this award-winning tap one of COCOON’s favourite products.

This award-winning tap, along with the rest of the new collection, will be featured in the bathrooms of probably the most special hotel in the world: the Icehotel 365, which is built from ice and snow. The brand new hotel in the north of Sweden opens its doors this month. Unlike the classic Icehotel, which is left to melt in summer, this new hotel will be maintained by solar panels. It includes 9 luxury suites, each with sauna and bathroom, and 11 art suites, all sculptured by selected artists. A large ice bar and ice gallery are also part of this extraordinary hotel. COCOON is honoured to be part of this exclusive project.
