Corradi Imago
The new frontier of living outside the home
How can you turn your outdoor space into a place you can live in? To answer this question, Corradi, a company that has made creativity Made in Italy its stylistic signature, has created Imago: a completely self-sufficient outdoor structure that gives shape to the design and living desires of those who imagine it.
Imagining a space that becomes a place is a process that architects and designers are accustomed to, and Corradi, a company that has a symbiotic relationship with the world of design, has embraced this concept and given life to Imago.
Imago is first and foremost a form of thought that shifts the horizon from a simple outdoor structure to a place to be shaped to express the essence of the style of those who live in it, to give form to the vision of those who spend time there. An outdoor solution with blades that can be adjusted up to 135°, designed as an autonomous, pliable entity, to support the function it was created for.
The latest addition to the Corradi collection is a completely self-sufficient structure in its construction components: platform, pillars, beams in full architectural continuity. In fact, integration, flexibility and continuity are the principles that guided the development of Imago in every stage, from the creative process to the definition of a solution with a linear design focused on extremely clean lines.
With a cross-section of 15x15 cm, the pillars were designed to accommodate both a downpipe for the drainage of water and side runners of screens, for a maximum encumbrance of 33x33 mm. The beams are also designed to incorporate all the closures of the Corradi range, concealing any discontinuity from view. The blades have been completely redesigned to mesh better with the simple continuity of the lines and can be fitted with dimmering LED lighting. The gutter also offers the possibility of incorporating LED lights throughout the entire internal perimeter to create a modular, effective and particularly evocative lighting system.
The particular geometry of the beams and pillars means that Imago's external skin can be completely different in colour from the interior for a unique, elegant and welcoming two-tone effect.
In addition, Imago can offer multiple configurations of side closures: from fully open to sliding glass doors, Aura brise-soleil closures or vertical screens with transparent, filtering or darkening fabric. A dual closure with windows and vertical screens is also possible, as is the unprecedented possibility of having fixed panels, for which the Company has had to comply with UNI EN 1090 quality certification.
Lastly, its modularity is also evident within the structure: Imago can also be equipped with a Closet module, a private corner to use as a changing room, storage for chairs and sunbeds or as a wardrobe. The Closet module consists of a partition of fixed and sliding brise-soleil panels. To complete the optional components that make Imago a self-sufficient pavilion, there is the new 17.5 cm high platform that can compensate for differences in height, which can be combined with different types of walking surfaces.
“Imago was born from an original view of outdoor space. The basic idea that guided its development is the need to transcend the concept of an outdoor product and enter the dimension of a place that can be fully lived in outdoors. It's something that goes beyond both the concepts of product and space. So far we have imagined Imago in three variants that exemplify its potential: Imago Gourmet for experiencing the kitchen outside the home, Imago Feeling Good designed so you can immerse yourself in a wellness space, and Imago Dreaming conceived as a bedroom, a provocation that seeks to push the boundaries of the outdoors where we'd never considered them before. But Imago can adapt to many other needs, satisfy many other desires, and this was our goal from the very beginning: combine extreme customisation with Corradi innovation and elegance”, said Raf Segers, Corradi CEO.
