The reform of Anoeta Stadium – Real Sociedad C.F. home stadium – began in 2018. This project is being developed in several phases during 2018 and 2019.

Avatar seating has been the chosen stadium seat for this project. Avatar seat has been designed, manufactured and installed by Daplast. It is a tip-up seat, designed to optimize spectator’s comfort and security. RedDot has awarded Avatar seats for the best design in stadium seating, considering its internal structure and external aesthetic.

Avatar seats are set up to the grandstand by a metallic rail, which offers flexibility to change easily the audience capacity. Metallic brackets are also flexible, saving installation times.

Along summer 2018, Daplast installed 28.995 Avatar seats in different versions: Basic, Premium and Suite, accordingly to each stadium area: general grandstands, preferences areas and VIP boxes.

The first football match played at new Anoeta Stadium was Real Sociedad CF and FC Barcelona, on September 15th, at the beginning of 2018-2019 Spanish Premier League season. One of the most appreciated updates by spectators is the elimination of the athletics track, which allows public to be closer to the field.

The new Avatar seats are also highly appreciated. The seat dimensions once it is closed allows a comfortable and safe free space to walk between rows. The folded Avatar seat only occupies 200 mm of depth.

Avatar seating range is completed with the Premium version, with upholstery and optional armrests, which are installed at preferences areas, and Suite version, installed at VIP boxes, which it is completely upholstered and counts with a higher backrest, double armrests and an optional cup holder.

There are many international sports venues that counts with Avatar seats, among them Parc des Princes Stadium, in Paris, with more than 46.000 Avatar seats; Gran Canaria Arena, in Las Palmas, home of Herbalife GC – ACB basket team; or Qatar Handball Association Arena, in Lekhwiya, (Doha, Qatar), which hosted the 2015 World Men´s Handball Championship.

In addition, Avatar seats are installed in other Spanish Football Stadiums, just to mention the ones from Premier League: Balaidos Stadium, in Vigo, La Rosaleda Stadium, in Málaga; Mestalla Stadium of Valencia C.F., and Benito Villamarín Stadium, home of Real Betis Balompié F.C. in Seville.
