CNES – Les Halles

Modernisation of the spaces

Located in the heart of the Les Halles district, on Place Maurice-Quentin, the headquarters of the French National Centre for Space Studies (CNES) has occupied this site for more than forty years. This 9,200 m² building has undergone a complete renovation aimed at modernising its spaces while improving its environmental performance.

The project seeks to reveal a new identity for the existing building, with a more open, contemporary architectural approach focused on user comfort. Natural light, fluidity of the spaces and the use of understated materials contribute to creating an atmosphere that is both elegant and functional, adapted to the building’s new uses. This approach is accompanied by a strong environmental commitment, notably reflected in the achievement of the HQE Building Renovation V1 certification at “Excellent” level.

For the sanitary facilities, Duten supported the project with several fittings in Edstal finish. Simple, durable and timeless, this finish naturally complements the contemporary aesthetic sought for the project, while providing the resistance required for spaces used on a daily basis. The Duten products selected for the project are the R320, R395, A860, B615, A810, D425 and B630 models, made of brushed stainless steel, combining aesthetics, durability and robustness.
