Solar Air System for DHL
Benefit in summer and winter
Companies that improve their energy efficiency reduce costs and strengthen their competitiveness. As a Dortmund-based engineering company, we specialize in increasing energy efficiency in large and logistics properties, both in existing and new buildings.
DHL, Stuttgart AIRPORT:
They were looking for a regenerative heating-supporting system to improve the air quality and ventilation in the building. It was important that the kerosene-containing air from the airport taxiway was not blown into the building untreated. Furthermore, an even distribution of the solar-heated air was desired.
The challenge was the installation during operation and the limited accessibility due to the distribution systems in the building.
GoGaS developed the solution together with the operator of the hall: The LUBI Wall solar air system with three collector surfaces covering a total of 180 m² provides around 80 MWh of regenerative heat for the 5,500 m² hall area. The air is cleaned by additionally installed activated carbon and dust filters.
LUBI Wall supports the existing hot air heating system.
The system is mounted directly on the facade of the building and brings the sun’s energy directly into the hall as warm air. In the warm summer months, you benefit from passive cooling.
The use of renewable energies with the LUBI Wall results in considerable savings:
17.9 tons CO2
17,886 m³ natural gas
9,500 € energy costs
The investment therefore not only pays off for the operator. LUBI Wall is also a benefit from an ecological point of view.
