Step by step towards more sustainability

Entrance matting systems from emco Bau are ecologically and economically clean and are trampled underfoot every day. This is precisely what makes them so valuable for the building.

According to the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB), sustainable construction is about ‘maximising the available options in terms of holistic quality’. Sustainable products must therefore be at the forefront in a wide range of disciplines. When it comes to aspects such as resource conservation, recyclability or ensuring the health and comfort of users, entrance mats and clean-off floor coverings from emco Bau are right at the forefront. Thanks to emco products, visitors can enjoy the peace of mind of not leaving any dirt on the floor when entering a building. In turn, owners and building planners enjoy numerous economic and ecological benefits.

Optimally matched clean-off systems from emco reliably protect interiors from dirt and moisture ingress from outside. To this end, emco has developed the ‘1, 2, 3!’ strategy. People entering the room are guided through three dirt trap zones, allowing them to clean the soles of their shoes step by step. The interiors remain noticeably cleaner. The cleaning team is happy about less work and less cleaning agent consumption. Because the floors are also better protected from damage caused by dirt from outside, they also last longer. This in turn pleases the owners, as operating costs are reduced.

emco entrance mat system systems are made for a long life

The emco clean-off systems themselves also excel in terms of sustainability. This starts with the sturdy, particularly durable and TÜV-certified aluminium profile mats for floor recesses. If they do need to be replaced, the aluminium used can be almost completely recycled. The upper material of clean-off mats such as emco CONFORM, emco ROYAL, emco PRESTIGE or emco LINEA has several lives behind it. This is because it is made from ECONYL® yarn, which is obtained from recycled plastic waste such as old fishing nets.

Of course, building planners can rely on emco entrance matting systems to meet the highest sustainability standards. Products such as emco PREMIUM comply with emission limits according to standards such as LEED v4 and BREEAM. This is confirmed by the TFI certification ‘TÜV ProfiCert-product’.

If a defect does occur, emco clean-off systems are guaranteed not to end up completely in the bin. The ‘emco Refit’ service prevents this with the emco Bau mat check and a wide range of replacement parts.

Responsibly manufactured products that last a long time and need to be replaced less frequently are both economically and ecologically clean. The DGNB, of which emco has been a member for many years, also recognises this.
