Focus presents two exclusive new designs at the ‘Village EPV’
At the 2026 Maison&Objet trade fair, held in Paris on 15–19 January, Focuspresented two exclusive new home decor objects designed by Christophe Ployé, Focus’s head of design projects.
Featured in the Village des Entreprises du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV), the objects typify the iconic lines of Focus design as well as the industrial expertise of Théus, the Focus metalworks, which has been awarded the French label of a ‘Living Heritage’ company (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant: EPV).
An alliance that gives rise to superlative works that uncompromisingly merge mastery of the material, technical excellence and artistic expression.
CxL – a table like a vortex
A sculptural bar table, the CxL is inspired by a vortex, with its latent energy and spiralling form pulling you in. Its three-bladed shape creates spaces that simultaneously offer privacy and invite sharing. Designed as a place to come together, the table’s centre can hold a firebowl, a light, a parasol or a champagne bucket: whatever suits the occasion. The design integrates a complex structure with no visible joints, premium paintwork, and a pewter top crafted by Étains de Lyon, a French company also awarded the EPV label for its exceptional savoir-faire.
Xtube – a torch with a twist
A contemporary torch, the Xtube revisits a utilitarian object by tilting, intertwining and putting its elements in resistance. Burning either paraffin or citronella oil, the tubes can be used as torches or to hold mosquito coils, a singular design solution. Its raw lava stone base, crafted by the French company Pyrolave, provides a stability equal to a storm lantern, and contrasts with the glossy lacquered finish of the steel tubes. This experimental, enigmatic piece is in keeping with the spirit of Focus: subverting the ordinary to challenge convention.
This is made possible by the collaboration between the Focus design studio and the Théus metalworks, whose teams ensure all stages of the process in-house, from design to finished product. The ‘living heritage’ of Théus’s rare industrial expertise, recognised by its EPV label, is essential to turning Focus’s peerless design into reality.
