Fratelli Mariani expanded metal at Milan Design Week
Fratelli Mariani is among the protagonists of the temporary installation "The Diner", designed by the American archistar David Rockwell.
Until the 22nd of April the visitors of Fuori Salone can enjoy a lunch break or an exclusive dinner at "The Diner" in the Ventura Centrale Design District, in Via Ferrante Aporti 15. This is the exclusive pop-up restaurant, which offers a coast-to-coast food and wine tour, discovering the American flavors. "The Diner" is also a temporary location for a series of talks, and in the evening it turns into a disco club with shows and parties until late at night.
The project was conceived by the famous architect David Rockwell, in collaboration with the New York design studio 2x4 and the US magazine Surface Magazine, on the occasion of its 25th anniversary.
In particular, the Chicago archistar, an expert in hotel and restaurant design, was inspired by the typical American restaurants, combining his great passion for theater. The result is a meeting place with a scenographic design, where there is a cozy and familiar atmosphere.
The temporary installation was carried out in record time: one week, at the end of which the spaces under the vaults of the former Magazzini Raccordati completely changed their appearance, thanks to a new, glamorous, innovative and futuristic restyling.
The construction of this spectacular design architecture sees Fratelli Mariani partner of Ventura Projects, at the head of the reconversion of the Ventura Centrale district on the occasion of the Milan Design Week.
"The Diner" has been shaped, using Fratelli Mariani's core product: the expanded metal. In particular, the jersey used is Copacabana, ideal to be worked and shaped to give life to new designs, unique and strong.
