Openwork slats
Gardenode presents : the new aluminium slats!
Gardenode, a fencing supplier based in Mouscron, Belgium, launched a new aluminium slat for its fences this summer: the openwork slat. ‘In our composite range, we already had a model where the slats are spaced apart,’ explains David Deslypper, the company's director. ‘It was a request from customers in windy coastal areas to also have an aluminium version, to let the wind and light through.’
‘Regardless of whether it's windy or not, this new fence will adapt to any space. The spacing between the slats is achieved using special clips. These are slid into the slot in the post, above each slat. One bag contains 22 clips, enough to install a fence 1.8 metres high.
The new slats are 1.8 metres long and 135 or 85mm high. ‘The height is very precisely calculated. With the 135 blade and the 15mm clip, the total height is 15 cm. This is the standard height that we use for all our planks, including those in composite, so it's always possible to combine all the profiles together.’ At 21 millimetres, the thickness is exactly the same as all the other infill profiles in the Gardenode range. ‘So, for fencing professionals, all the slats and accessories are compatible with the Equinox post to put together their fence as if they were playing Lego.’ The new profiles are available from stock in anthracite grey and come with a 15-year guarantee.
