Pablo Erroz chooses the Canyon Pearl model by Gayafores to dress his catwalk at MBFWMadrid 2021

The designer and the manufacturer of porcelain floor and wall tiles collaborate in the great Spanish fashion event with timeless and natural creations

When talent and passion for things well done come together, special and brilliant synergies arise. This is the case of the collaboration between the designer Pablo Erroz and Gayafores, one of the most veteran companies in the Spanish ceramics sector, which have joined forces to form a perfect gear, as was evident in the Mallorcan designer's return to Mercedes Benz Fashion Week (MBFW) to present the Non-Seasonal 2022 collection.

The catwalk at the Madrid Fashion Week has been covered with the Canyon Pearl model, a porcelain floor tile with a different design, a highly worked graphic and a smooth movement that generates a subtle contrast of light and shadow. It is a de-toned product that reproduces a sinuous, fluid stone, rich in nuances, thanks to the application of digital material, fusing the latest technology with the traditional ceramic essence, and which Pablo Erroz has chosen because it is fully in tune with the values of timelessness, neutrality and sustainability that represent his way of understanding fashion. In fact, in his collections there is no such thing as seasons, expiry dates or genres. Just like Gayafores porcelain floor and wall coverings, his garments are a powerful tool for feeling free, expressing oneself and living better.

Furthermore, the designer, a pioneer in genderless design and with an incipient facet as an interior designer (some of his projects have been published in renowned specialised media such as AD - Architectural Digest), has always been in favour of expanding the limits of fashion to include interior design pieces and explore other areas in order to "create a tangible brand universe" and it is in this context that the collaboration with Gayafores is framed because Pablo Erroz considers that working together with other brands is a way of growing and adding value.

Side by side at MBFWMadrid

The Pablo Erroz and Gayafores teams have worked side by side with boundless energy and great enthusiasm to prepare for the event and participate in an event with international repercussions, which in its 73rd edition was held from April 8 to 11 at Ifema-Madrid, in a hybrid format, with in-person runway shows, performances and fashion films.

As the Marketing Department of Gayafores says, "embarking on this path together with Pablo Erroz is a great satisfaction, as it allows us to experiment and evolve on the basis of design, fashion and new trends at a crucial time like the one we are living and in which we need to get excited and look to the future with vitality and optimism". And to do so hand in hand with Pablo Erroz and on such an exceptional platform as MBFWMadrid "is a dream come true".

Deploying on the catwalk a hundred pieces of porcelain flooring in 60x120 format in record time has been an exceptional job and never seen before, "but the effort has been absolutely worth it, as the event has been a success," they say from Gayafores. Once again, the brand has merged fashion and ceramics and the Canyon Pearl model has shone with its own light in a parade that has had almost 100 accredited media and the presence of several celebrities in the front row, among which was Begoña Gómez, wife of the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez.

Pablo Erroz, "heir to New York cool"

Pablo Erroz is one of the designers with the greatest projection of the moment. Formed in the ranks of Inditex and considered by Vogue as "heir to the New York cool", has received various international awards, has paraded in MBFWMadrid, Vienna Fashion Week and 080 Barcelona Fashion, has been selected as 'brand to watch' by the trend portal WGSN and has been included in the short list for the award Who's On Next of Vogue Spain to the best designer of the year, as well as in the Italian section of Vogue Talents. He has also been part of the design teams of Massimo Dutti and Bershka and has been creative director of Caramelo. Now, with his own firm, he actively collaborates in a multidisciplinary way with various national and international brands, among which is already Gayafores.
