Taking into account this growing need, Gilgen Door Systems has mandated the German testing institute ift Rosenheim to examine two of their automatic sliding door models

SLX-M RC2 and SLX-M RC3 for their anti-burglar effect, with an enjoyable result.

The present trend indicates that security is a factor of growing importance. At this stage, a large number of bank concepts demands for the involved buildings a minimum standard corresponding to resistance class RC2 respectively RC3. In spite of this enhanced safety level, the entrance is expected to look elegant and inviting. True to the motto "protected by design", Gilgen Door Systems has given this topic a lot of thought and is now in a position to offer their customers automatic doors complying exactly with these requirements. In addition, Gilgen Door Systems is one of the first manufacturers whose doors have been successfully tested on the basis of the new series of European anti-burglar standards (EN 1627-1630).

The automatic Gilgen sliding door systems SLX-M RC2 and SLX-M RC3 with their streamlined aluminum profiles have been exposed to stringent testing. Using the burglar tools corresponding the resistance classes RC2 and RC3, the staff members of the German testing institute ift Rosenheim have tried to force the Gilgen automatic doors open – but without success! Moreover, it turned out that these doors were also capable of withstanding the static loads (RC2 = 3000 N / RC3 = 6000 N) and have also successfully passed the dynamic impact test with a pendulum weight of 50 kg.

The Gilgen automatic doors tested for their burglary-resistance effect can be easily locked and unlocked in a matter of seconds by means of an automatic multipoint locking mechanism. As an option, a manual multipoint locking is available.

The two Gilgen sliding door systems can be supplied as single-winged or bi-parting versions, with or without fanlight, and they are perfectly suited for equipping large-size structural openings (up to 3000 x 6000 mm).
