Ragni, a company withh a living heritage
Ragni has received the Living Heritage Company label
Attributed by the French State after a careful analyze of the application form and a visit of the premises of the applicant company, the EPV label is a designation that rewards rare know-how and the excellence of the Made in France. For Ragni company, it is a mark of recognition of a long way mixing the passion for a creative profession and the perseverance of a whole family to support a company beyond the years. The manufacture of traditional lanterns is the core business and the strength between all the generations of the Ragni family. From its beginning, the Ragni et Fils workshop, located by the Nationale 7 roadside, manufactures garden lanterns. In 1960, the company is already renowned for the quality of its ironworks throughout the region. Francis Blanche even stops to choose the lanterns that will illuminate the village of Eze. Chandeliers, wall lamps, furniture and other decorative pieces are also made in a friendly atmosphere and in the dust of forges. In the 1970s, Ragni company satisfies its need for development by building a factory to the height of its ambitions. At that moment, it became the regional flower of ironwork and is the number one in the manufacture of chimney products. The site located in Vallon des Vaux will be grown up many times and the Ragni name definitely anchored in local heritage of Cagnes-sur-Mer and Alpes-Maritimes. Currently, a project for a new building is in progress, at a few meters of the original factory.
Because Ragni never stopped to develop, up to reach an average turnover of €32 million these last years. With a commercial network covering all the French country and with more than 40 countries as clients, the family company mixes with the more famous names of this sector and imposes itself, with its subsidiary Novéa Energies, as a forerunner and expert in the autonomous lighting. However, in the middle of design luminaires with refined lines, the sheet metal workshop is running at full capacity. The Vence lantern is mass-produced for cities that appreciate this close link between tradition and modernity. Laborers design tailor-made products for specific demands. Folding, machining, welding, sanding are old methods still used today, even if they benefit from the advantages provided by technical evolutions. Lanterns are equipped with last generation LED lighting solutions. Some high-performance machines rub shoulders with machines used for 40 years. The average seniority of employees is 17 years, indicating the transgenerational character of the company. The Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label allows to highlight this historical and patrimonial aspect of Ragni’s activity and to promote a corporate culture centered on human, dialogue and passion, the keys themes of the social responsibility policy that the manufacturer Ragni conducts for combine its career and its values with respect for sustainable development challenges.
