New version of the Homematic IP App with new comfort functions

With the newest update, important new features have been added to the Homematic IP App. Widgets and push-messages make controlling smart homes with Homematic IP more intuitive and customizable. The app ver-sions 2.8.0 for Apple iOS and 2.8.9 for Android are now available through the respective stores.

Widgets are smart shortcuts. They enable Homematic IP customers to trigger functions directly from their mobile’s home screen – without having to open the app first. Users can place the new Homematic IP Widgets as they like. The widgets adopt the smartphone’s light and dark mode settings.

As a first step widgets are available for Homematic IP light actuators and light groups as well as for the Homematic IP Door Lock Drive. For example, one can comfortably control the lights or a light scene directly from the home screen or open and lock a door.

“With the introduction of widgets, we provide our customers with an even simpler way to control important functions, without having to open the Homematic IP App. This way we make controlling a smart home even easier.”, explains Bernd Grohmann, CEO of eQ-3.

Widgets are available to Homematic IP App users on Apple iOS and Android at the same time.

In addition to the introduction of Widgets, the new release adds a new function in the area of automatizations. Thanks to the new feature “automatizations”, users can automate countless tasks and link different actions however they like. Is a window still open after 10:00 p.m.? With the Homematic IP App you can plan and automate a check and define, how you want to be notified. With the new update push messages are available to quickly and directly inform the user about the Homematic IP system.

Of course, the use of the Homematic IP smartphone apps and the cloud will re-main free of charge even with these additions and no personal data needs to be provided.
