TÜV Rheinland certifies automatic hydraulic balancing with Homematic IP
Save energy and increase living comfort
In an independent test, TÜV Rheinland confirmed that Homematic IP radia-tor thermostats and FALMOT-C12 underfloor heating controllers are able to perform automatic hydraulic balancing on heating systems that have not been calibrated. The intelligent control ensures a pleasant room climate and better energy efficiency in every smart building.
Smart radiator thermostats and the floor heating controller - 12-channel, motorised from Homematic IP dynamically adjust the flow rate of each radiator or heating circuit to the actual heat requirement of the respective room. In doing so, the au-tomatic system takes into account changing conditions, such as the current tem-perature and user behaviour. In this way, the devices automatically prevent the radiators or heating circuits from being oversupplied or undersupplied with heating water. For the user, this means that the heating system maintains exactly the desired comfort temperature and at the same time operates in a particularly energy-saving manner. The certification by TÜV Rheinland confirms the efficiency of this procedure, which, according to the test judgement, ‘is at least equivalent to hyd-raulic balancing’ according to the common procedure A and B (VdZ) in Germany.
With this conclusion, the TÜV confirms the test results of the Fraunhofer IEE. In two measurement campaigns in 2021 and 2022, the renowned institute found that many Homematic IP radiator thermostats and the floor heating controller - 12-channels, motorised automatically perform dynamic and adaptive balancing on the radiator.
Automatic hydraulic balancing is also a great advantage for the specialist trade. It eliminates the need to install pre-settable valves. In addition, the time-consuming and complex pipe network calculation can be omitted in existing buildings. This saves time and money.
