German Football Association (DFB), Frankfurt am Main, Germany

The largest investment project in the history of the DFB

The architectural firm kadawittfeldarchitektur opted for the HeartFelt® ceiling and wall system in designing the new German Football Association (DFB) campus in Frankfurt am Main, drawn by its exceptional acoustic qualities.

HeartFelt® ceilings and walls

Spanning 1,200 m², HeartFelt® imparts warmth to DFB offices with a modular ceiling and to the press room with a linear wall system, creating an aesthetically pleasing and sonically comfortable environment while maintaining the highest sustainability standards.

Acoustic needs

Embracing an open-plan concept, the office areas within the DFB complex prioritize spaciousness and airiness, prompting a careful consideration of acoustic needs in ceiling selection. Departing from conventional aluminum slat ceilings typically found in office settings, a felt slat ceiling was chosen. Throughout the office areas and academy hallways, HeartFelt® felt panels in dimensions of 40x55 mm, with an 80-module distance between panels, were installed in a grey 7596.

Easy modification of slats

Lars Junold, project manager at kadawittfeldarchitektur, elaborates, “We sought a modular system that seamlessly integrates revisions into the ceiling plan. A closed ceiling, like plasterboard, would have necessitated numerous visible inspection openings. The modular HeartFelt® system allows for easy modification of slats as needed, avoiding the need to dismantle the entire ceiling. Furthermore, HeartFelt® exudes a cozy, inviting ambiance in contrast to aluminum ceilings, which tend to feel more technical and sombre. Its diverse colour palette offers a broad spectrum of options beyond standard shades.”
