SteelMart, a first-class support
The first support entirely in class A1 of Impertek anticipates the safety regulation against fire risk.
Technologic innovation becomes more and more concrete thanks to SteelMart, the last news from Impertek. After the great success of Balance Pro in 2020, the first adjustable support for external surfaces entirely in Class A1 of reaction to fire is born. Considering the importance of safety in the design of a building, Impertek has projected the SteelMart line anticipating the European fire prevention regulations, further increasing the efficiency level of PEDESTAL LINE.
The European standard UNI EN 13501-1: 2019 regulates the fire reaction classification criteria for all construction products, classifying in classes from A to F. SteelMart is produced with non-combustible steel able to resist to high-temperature obtaining the Class A1 FL (where “FL” means flooring). In addition, the materials with which SteelMart supports are produced have good resistance to corrosion, exposure to air and UV rays.
The strength of SteelMart doesn’t compromise the versatility of this product, which renews the main qualities of two of the flagship products of Pedestal Line: Balance and Balance Pro.
SteelMart, like the Balance range, corrects the slope up to 5% and has been designed with tabs 2 mm thick for tiles but also with headpieces for decking and mixed materials and format.
The SteelMart line has nine products: the first four cover heights from 25mm to 53 mm; the rest cover an excursion from 53 mm to 300 mm ensuring stability thanks to a stroke block at the maximum height reached by the pedestal.
If necessary, the height of the support can be fixed by fasting the screw on the top of the threaded bar. Moreover, it is possible to produce on demand supports capable of covering higher ranges. The circular base, with a diameter of 150 mm, can load up to 1000 kg at any adjustment height and evenly distributes the weight of the upper floor on. These supports can be laid on any waterproofing membrane without compromising its integrity.
Another key feature of SteelMart is to set perfectly the final level of the flooring adjusting millimetrically the head by screwing its nut onto the M16 threaded bar. A specific tapering, where a 21mm wrench can fit, has been realized to make easier this adjustment operation. In addition, a metal cap is supplied to be fitted in the centre of the head with the aid of a hammer with a rubber head, which protects the adjustment and locking system from dust and water, further increasing resistance over time.
For Impertek, the attention to safety is an essential aspect that we can already see in the Balance Pro V0 line that can guarantee passive fire protection. The selected raw materials, containing retardant additives, have made it possible to create a line of supports capable of significantly reducing the spread of the flame and at the same time obtaining a drastic reduction in smoke and noxious fumes without compromising their strength and load capacity.
The SteelMart metal support expands the range of Impertek Fire Resistant products for the installation of raised floors. It was designed to ensure the highest level of safety and for installation on any laying surface, allowing the inspection of the various underlaying systems or waterproofing felts, without demolition works. The strength of the steel constitutes a further step forward in safety, ensuring the structural integrity of the outdoor terraces in the event of a fire.
