HAMAD GENERAL HOSPITAL, QATAR

The design team at MASQ.World, in partnership with Indelague, developed a new lighting system for Hamad General Hospital in Qatar, with the aim of creating an environment that benefits both patients and healthcare professionals. Recognising the significant impact of light on people – visually, biologically, and emotionally – this lighting solution was designed to transform the hospital space, providing a healing environment that combines functionality with a welcoming atmosphere.

To replicate the effects of natural light, innovative solutions were implemented that have proven to promote well-being, enhance efficiency, and aid in the retention of staff. Functional lighting was installed in all public areas: linear lights guide patients through the corridors, while square light panels ensure appropriate illumination in the nursing and recovery rooms.

The solution also includes architectural LED luminaires and waterproof devices, ensuring the required light levels and uniformity in each hospital space, thereby creating a safe, efficient, and visually harmonious environment.
