Knauf Ceiling Solutions, the specialist in multi-material acoustic ceilings, continues its innovation journey with the launch of Wood DesignBoard and Wood DesignLine. These new solutions expand the Wood Design range, which already includes Varioline Wood (printed mineral ceiling) and Metal Wood Effect (metal ceiling with wood print).
The Unique Feature of Wood DesignBoard and Wood DesignLine?
Both solutions feature a real wood veneer applied to a gypsum base, combining aesthetics with high performance. This material combination ensures low VOC emissions, achieving Class A+ certification and the prestigious Air Comfort Gold certification. Cleaner indoor air is now a key consideration for architects and building owners alike.
Additionally, the natural wood paired with gypsum meets strict fire reaction standards (B-s1, d0 and A2-s1, d0), making these solutions suitable for public buildings (ERP) and high-rise buildings (IGH).

Beyond technical performance, Wood DesignBoard and Wood DesignLine are designed to enhance interior spaces with elegance. Every project using Wood DesignBoard and Wood DesignLine is reviewed by Knauf Ceiling Solutions' in-house design office, enabling fully customized suspended ceilings and acoustic wall solutions. Whether it's dimensions, acoustic perforations, or wood species, architects can transform their vision into a bespoke reality.
Wood DesignLine: A Slatted Effect for a Modern Look
This solution stands out with its gypsum slats covered with real wood veneer, available with rounded or square edges and in three thickness options (18 mm, 25 mm, and 36 mm).
The standard wood species include oak, ash, and American walnut, each offering unique tones and textures to meet designers' expectations. Additional veneers are available upon request.
The spacing between slats can also be adjusted from 5 mm to 25 mm, allowing for further customization of ceiling or wall designs. A special acoustic fleece inserted between the slats ensures optimal sound absorption.
Wood DesignBoard: A Panel Combining Acoustics and Aesthetics
The Wood DesignBoard panel, as standard, can be smooth or offered with various perforations to provide optimal sound absorption up to 0.90 αw. Options include different diameters of round perforations, nano-perforations that are nearly invisible to the naked eye, and grooved perforations for a distinctive style.
Wood DesignBoard is available in oak, ash, or American walnut, depending on the desired cozy atmosphere. Additional veneers are also available upon request.
