The Glass House
The Glass House, In Reutlingen, near Stuttgart in Germany
This 13th-century stone house (one of the oldest in Germany), completely demolished in 1972 due to its dilapidated state, was entirely rebuilt and transformed into a veritable glass museum!
This project was carried out in close collaboration with FUCHS DESIGN, our German distributor, which handled the drilling and reinforcement of each glass tile, as well as the site coordination.
In 2018, the architectural firm WULF was selected to carry out this glass project. 28,477 glass roof tiles were manufactured by LA ROCHERE and installed one by one.
The project utilizes the LA ROCHÈRE range's flat roof tile no. 112. To meet the specific constraints of certain areas and the requirements of this large-scale project, a slightly longer glass roof tile was specially developed for this site: tile no. 114.
