MAJLIS OMAN

LINEA LIGHT

The new Parliament of the Sultanate of Oman, also known as Majlis Oman, was designed to be the new iconic landmark of Muscat, its capital city. The 101,000 sq. m. site includes a new building for the upper and lower houses of Parliament, the VIP area, an information centre, and a library.

Finding a unique lighting solution that could enhance the lines and profiles of over 5 km of façade was far from easy for the Royal Court of Affairs.

Indeed, it was quite a difficult challenge given the need to obtain a controlled wall washing effect covering almost the whole wall height, about 38 metres.

This huge outdoor project was successfully achieved thanks to the modern LED technology by Linea Light Group that, in cooperation with the London design firm Visual Energy, made it possible to conceive a customized solution featuring linear and underground LED lighting fixtures. Three products were employed: Steelwalk, Starline and Ghost, all belonging to the i-LèD brand.

The Majlis Oman project is among the twelve finalists of the international prize DARC AWARDS as Best Exterior Scheme – High Budget.
