A Private Home

Minimal-effect lighting

A new villa in one of the residential districts of Madrid, surrounded by greenery and nature, far from the traffic and chaos of the capital. The perfect place to live with your family ... and perhaps to even enlarge it one day. It was with this in mind that the owners of the house chose this part of the city, known and much-appreciated also for the proximity to excellent schools.

This private home extends around 150 square metres, split over two floors and surrounded by an extensive garden of 200 square metres with lawn and an inground swimming pool. The construction was built from scratch and saw the use of various materials, from stone for the external walls, to glass for the parapet along the large terrace on the upper floor overlooking the garden and the swimming pool below. The final result is a residence with an elegant yet discreet flavour that immerses nicely into the surrounding context and which has been masterfully enhanced thanks to a lighting project created ad hoc by the lighting designer Oscar Abril Revuelta who, in conjunction with the same owners, selected certain Linea Light Group solutions.

The luminaires installed – all in their standard version due to the haste of the owners themselves – were selected with a dual objective. On the one hand, they had to perfectly integrate into the home’s architecture and on the other, it was necessary to emphasise the various environments, both indoors and outdoors, whilst ensuring the necessary lighting comfort.

Starting from within, we have the Tara ceiling lamp with minimal lines and a recessed edge, chosen to illuminate the living room (the real protagonist of the home). In the bedroom, along the corridors and in the common areas in general, the Cob44 was installed, being a high-performance downlight, whose round structure encases an optical compartment in reflective aluminium, from which emerges a truly high-quality light beam, ensured from the light source with arrayLED.

Great attention was also paid to the outdoor lighting project, conceived to emphasise the external lines of the home and the large garden by which it is surrounded. For the entrance, the MyWhite applique was the solution that allowed homogeneous and diffused lighting, whilst the Ardilla66 wall lamp in the dual emission version was utilised to emphasise the external façades on the ground and first floors. To exalt the porch, the Portik downlight was the solution that combines innovation and simplicity, being perfect for outdoor environments thanks to its 65 Protection Index.

Specifically for the garden, a “mix” of luminaires with high lighting performance was created. Bond PRO, used in the rear part of the garden, is the solution that achieves unobtrusive lighting, integrated into the environment. In addition to highlighting the tapered form of the lamp body, the light emitted in a circular manner illuminates the portion of the area below, creating elegant and discreet atmospheres.

The Shaker, rather, is the projector chosen to highlight the trees, thanks to its possibility of being oriented using a graduated bracket. Extremely resistant to atmospheric agents, it is the ideal solution for creating orchestrations of light that enhance the architecture and green areas.

Finally, for the flower beds and green areas, the Blum bollard was chosen to create suggestive plays of light, thanks to its diffused emission.
