LITOKOL FOR THE MOSAIC IN MILAN’S GALLERIA
LITOKOL IN THE INTERNATIONAL MEDIA SPOTLIGHT FOR THE RESTORATION OF THE BULL IN MILAN’S GALLERIA VITTORIO EMANUELE II
(Rubiera, 28 May 2026) Restoration work on the rearing Bull mosaic in Milan’s Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II began on Wednesday, 27 May and will be completed tomorrow, Saturday, 30 May. The mosaic has become worn over time as a result of the continuous heel-spinning ritual performed by tourists visiting Milan.
The restoration site has attracted significant attention from both national and international media, which have shared photos and videos of the expert restoration craftsman using Litokol’s innovative Starlike technology for the installation and grouting of the marble mosaic tesserae.
“Thousands of people perform the famous good-luck ritual of spinning on their heel every day,” said Gian Luca Sghedoni, CEO of Litokol. “Following the last restoration carried out in 2017, it had become necessary to restore the Galleria mosaic to its original appearance through a delicate conservation intervention.
We were selected specifically for the reliability and innovative technology of our products, which guarantee the highest levels of performance and durability compared with industry standards.
Thanks to the international media exposure we have received since yesterday, leading architecture and design firms from around the world have already started contacting us. Perhaps the Bull’s legendary promise of good luck is still working.”
