Emiliana Martinelli and Martinelli Luce at Carrara Marble Weeks 2014

The architect and designer Emiliana Martinelli has taken part at the event since its first edition. Its large light installations have characterized Carrara Marble Weeks, becoming focal points of the urban landscape, arousing great attraction in audience: a strong reminder, an element that relocates to the square its civic and representative functions making visible the "Light" that must always guide our lives. Emiliana Martinelli will be in Piazza Alberica with “Light Wheel”, a big light wheel l (3 and a half meters in diameter formed by Pistillo lamps lit with RGB LEDs) that ideally will dialogue with the square. A tribute to the town of Carrara through a new interpretation of his coat of arms. The designer dedicates his work to Paolo Armenise, curator and creator of Carrara Marble Weeks, who died recently. Martinelli Luce is the technical sponsor of the event, creating the lighting design of: Piazza Alberica, the Spazio Paretra, the info-point located in Via Loris Giorgi, the Chiesa delle Lacrime and the exhibition space of the designer Eliana Lorena. The event is organized by Carrara Fiere and IMM Carrara, supported by the Municipality of Carrara Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Carrara, Assindustria Massa-Carrara and Massa-Carrara Chamber of Commerce.
