Pipistrello flies to the table and Minipipistrello moves with you!

Maison & Objet 2017 novelties

The feather in the cap of Martinelli’s new proposals is the celebrated Pipistrello-Med lamp (Gae Aulenti, 1965) reproduced in its original form but in a new table-lamp size, half-way between the iconic original lamp famous the world over and the Minipipistrello, proposed in mini dimension.

As Emiliana Martinelli explains, “We wanted to propose a new version of the Pipistrello table lamp with a diameter of 40 cm and a height ranging from 50 to 62 cm. This is a continuation of the tribute to Gae Aulenti, and also a way of showing how the design input behind this lamp is being constantly renewed without altering its authenticity.” In the new Pipistrello, Martinelli Luce underscores the long-standing tradition of its design. Together with the Pipistrello, other successful lamps – the Cobra and the Serpente by Elio Martinelli to mention only the best-known – are produced and featured in the catalogue since their power of attraction is as strong as ever.

Another innovation of the Pipistrello’s family - thanks to LED technology - the Minipipistrello in the new portable cordless version, with dimmer switch, rechargeable battery and touch sensor. You can take the Minipipistrello wherever you want: for a romantic dinner or to grace the outdoor terrace, the perfect companion for those who don’t want to be restricted. The rechargeable cordless system (battery and battery charger supplied) works using a micro USB / Type-C with a duration of 4/5 hours. It can also be recharged using compatible power-banks.

The Martinelli Luce projects are shining examples of a minimalist but always technologically-updated design philosophy. They never become jaded and manage to withstand the passing of time and of trends, retaining their charm and their power of seduction unaltered.
