The Euroluce new products

Milano Design Week

At Euroluce, were presented a host of new proposals for hanging, table, floor and wall lamps – Loop, Mamba, Lent, Coassiale, Modena, Calabronet and many others – as well as the new intermediate-size version of the Pipistrello lamp and the cordless version of the Minipipistrello and a range of the most recent entries in the Martinelli Luce catalogue. The review of the brand’s ‘historic’ products such as Cobra and Elmetto by Elio Martinelli cannot but also include Lunaop, Maggiolone in a new diameter, Calabrone by Emiliana Martinelli, winner of the 2016 IF Design Award that sheathes technology and function in aesthetic simplicity, in both the hanging lamp and floor-lamp versions. The “right” light for every occasion thanks to LED light sources and interchangeable lenses for light beams of different diameters. And Biconica Pol by Emilana Martinelli, the perfect lamp for both indoor and outdoor uses, the Ciulifruli outdoor lamp from Studio 5+1AA and Emiliana Martinelli, and Marco Ghilarducci’s TX-1. Another lamp destined to become a “contemporary classic” is the Elica by Brian Sironi, which won the Compasso d Oro award in 2011. With a unique and ingenious on/off movement and direction of the light source, Elica is made in two sizes. The striking Fluida lamp by Studio Natural won honorable mention at the Compasso d’Oro in 2016. Enhancing any setting it is placed in, this extraordinary lamp never ceases to amaze in terms of the innumerable forms enabled by its flexibility. Hoop by Adolini+Simonini Associati – an Italian/Brazilian duo which has been collaborating with Martinelli Luce for some time – is instead an example of clean lines and versatility of use, with a spirit as youthful as the two designers who conceived and designed it. Another icon of contemporary design is Cyborg by Karim Rashid: a strong sign that expresses all the creativity of its designer and lights up with the gentle sweetness of a caress. Studio Natural’s LED+O, winner of the 2017 IF Design Award, is evidence of the research applied by Martinelli Luce to the use of LEDs in wall lamps, expres-sed in an essential design that preserves intact the suggestion of the form.
