B. Clean crockery in 17 minutes – with Miele

New ProfiLine dishwashers with WLAN module and untold convenience

So what's the solution if dirty crockery has to be ready for use again in next to no time but a domestic dishwasher takes too long? Help comes in the form of particularly robust and fast machines from Miele Professional's new ProfiLine model range, Miele's business unit specialising in solutions for commercial applications. With a cycle time of only 17 minutes, these machines are decidedly faster than dishwashers designed for private use but do not shy away from comparison with their domestic counterparts in terms of convenience in daily use. This makes them the products of choice wherever multiple cycles are run each day, for instance in office kitchens or small businesses, not forgetting larger families. The new models will be available from December 2017.

ProfiLine models are available as free-standing or built-under units or as integrated or fully integrated versions, and therefore lend themselves to all modern kitchens without entertaining any compromises. 'Their basket design corresponds to those on our domestic dishwashers, and represents the benchmark in terms of loading convenience', says Tobias Landwehr, product manager for dishwashers with Miele's German subsidiary. And so it comes as no surprise that the machine safely and conveniently accommodates all types of crockery and cutlery – from large pans and serving dishes to delicate glassware. This is achieved thanks to height-adjustable FlexCare glass holders in the lower basket whose nubbly fibreglass-reinforced plastic coating provide a secure hold to small items such as cups. Tall stemware is held securely by silicone capping trim in the FlexCare rack recesses. Additional flexibility is provided by a series of orange-marked FlexAssist fittings which can be relocated or removed.

When it comes to cutlery, Miele customers have a choice of classical cutlery basket and patented 3D+ cutlery drawer. This includes two small hinged rows of spikes in the central section which can be folded down flat to accommodate larger items such as a large soup ladle. The new spikes ensure that long, slender items such as cook's knives and salad servers are securely positioned and thoroughly washed and dried on all sides. Besides this, the side racks both slide in towards the centre, allowing more space along the sides for tall items of stemware in the upper basket below.

Eight wash programmes for all types of crockery and cutlery

Further convenience features on ProfiLine dishwashers, available from € 2,695 (RRP) upwards, include a delay start feature, LED interior lighting and Miele's patented AutoOpen drying. Eight wash programmes, including one each for plastics and glassware, guarantee the gentle cleaning of all types of crockery and cutlery. The new ProfiLine machines are equipped with the patented Perfect GlassCare function which washes glassware particularly gently.

Compared with a typical domestic dishwasher, significant time savings are achieved through the interaction of a heater pump, an additional throughflow heater and programme controls improved to optimise cycle times. When it comes to drying, users have a choice: Either open the door at the end of a programme, allowing porcelain, glass and cutlery to dry within minutes using latent heat to evaporate moisture. Or activate additional AutoOpen drying which even achieves first-class results on plastics and removes the puddles from the base of cups and bowls, but adds 20 minutes to the programme cycle. A high heater rating necessitates a 3-phase 400 V supply. Nevertheless, performance and economy are not mutually self-exclusive – the new ProfiLine dishwashers achieve an A++ rating for energy efficiency.

In the interests of the best possible cleaning results despite short cycle times, Miele recommends the use of its own cleaning products which can be ordered from online stores by commercial and residential customers. All new ProfiLine dishwashers feature an integrated WLAN module which allows programme cycle details for commercial and domestic applications respectively to be called up from a smartphone or tablet PC using the new mielepro@mobile and miele@mobile apps. Users are automatically notified when stocks of detergent, rinse aid or salt are low – and can order more with just a few clicks. For ProfiLine dishwashers, automatic liquid dispensing is also available to reduce both effort and consumption.
