#Product Trends

Milliken designers are on-trend for this season with soft pastels and tinted neutrals

collection. Four new designs have been introduced to Milliken''s most successful carpet tile range

and with Consequence 2.0 there is an unparalleled choice: now a total of six designs each offered in thirty different colours. The Consequence collection was originally designed in the UK by Milliken''s

in-house design team and launched in Europe in 2009. The collection went on to be introduced to

the Americas and Asia becoming Milliken''s best-selling global collection.

Milliken''s in-house British based design team, looked to global fashion and trends forecaster, Stylesight, as well as sales analysis and customer focus groups to help them identify colour ranges to excite and inspire. The Milliken design team hope that the vast palette of patterns and carefully chosen hues will stimulate architects and designers working with the range, giving them greater opportunities to play with colour and more scope to create and innovate. The product''s premium construction, with exceptional texture, depth and dimension, lends itself to the adaptation of space and is suitable for a wide range of environments. In line with the trends already seen on the spring / summer 2014 catwalks, the feel across the collection is pastel and neutral. Tinted neutrals in complex combinations combine with layered pastel hues, chalky greys and concrete tones to create pretty and on-trend colour combinations that have strong architectural appeal.

The four new designs build on the original Upshot and Sequel designs from the Consequence

Collection, but delve deeper still into the edgy and abstract art forms that inspire them. The four

new designs “Part Two,” “Spin Off,” “Effect” and “React” are in addition to the original two: “Upshot” and “Sequel.” “Spin Off” is perhaps the most flexible of all the designs with larger and looser proportions. The random proportions, with a structured fade-out, make it suitable for a wide variety of environments. “Part Two” draws its inspiration from fine art with its abstract etching, rough lines, decorated scratches, chiselled, chased and hand drawn movement. Behind the decorative scratches lies a simplistic large and small scale stripe format that creates a furrow and ridge expanse, opening up the floor. “Effect” is a clean and crisp looking design with architectural influences giving a naturally simplistic and streamlined character. Effect has a fluid design which in an open space will naturally flow through shaded areas of light and dark. “React” has a handcrafted appearance, with a painterly effect of lines effortlessly bleeding in and out of focus, gritty and a little edgy. Fluid and free, the linear effect of React has a much less formatted feel than other Consequence family members.

Consequence 2.0 has 90% recycled content cushion backing. Produced in an ISO14001 certified facility in Lancashire, UK using ethically sourced and wherever possible, locally produced materials. The collection can also be supplied with TractionBack ® for adhesive-free installation and improved indoor air quality. The new collection can be viewed at www.millikencarpet.com
