BYTE – the working world of the future at SBB CFF FFS

The Swiss Federal Railways SBB have built a new building on the Wankdorf City site in Bern under the name BYTE.

The building with a volume of around 100,000 m3 and an area of ​​28,000 m2 is intended to bring the SBB brand to life and also be a meeting place where innovation is created.

The jobs of around 1,700 IT employees were previously spread across various locations in the Bern area. With the construction of BYTE, these jobs are now to be combined in one building.

For those responsible for the project, the building has something revolutionary about it and, among other things, it should let the pioneering spirit of the SBB flare up again. The BYTE is seen as a workshop for the future, where fun, ambition, humanity and creativity should be noticeable.

We were also able to contribute to the success of this project. The spaces must be able to adapt to new forms of work and to different organizational forms. With our products it is possible to design the rooms in the Byte completely flexibly and individually.
