NedZink NOIR can be superbly combined with other materials
Sleek, sleeker, sleekest! There is a new property on the Vlasolie in Brabant's Asten, where precision has been elevated to an art form
The roof and the façade of the building's length are covered entirely with a 'skin' of NedZink NOIR. The vertical standing seam runs in fine lines from the ridge to ground level and exactly parallel to the window frames. Moreover there is no overhang whatsoever and a glass top has been fully incorporated in the zinc roof. It constitutes a powerful example of craftsmanship by the zinc master Ridder Skins for Buildings Zuid from Uden, according to a bold design by the Gemert architect Denkkamer Architectuur & Onderzoek. "The anthracite-coloured NedZink NOIR looks fantastic combined with the darker stones on the end façades and the large windows all round", says Richard Verlijsdonk, director of Ridder Zuid. "The architect chose NedZink NOIR due to its look and high quality. Its durability is an added bonus. What's special about it is the fact that the NedZink NOIR strips are constructed from a single piece. Subtlety is the order of the day when it comes to the transition from the roof to the façade, the integration of the glass top and the proportion of the standing seam in relation to the window frames. Since we have our very own forming workshop, we prefabricate the strips of NedZink NOIR. We profile and form everything. This means we can mechanically integrate the bracket sides after the measurements have been taken. This reinforces the house's clean-cut exterior."
