NedZink NOVA COMPOSITE creates a complementary relationship between the Rietveld pavillon and the home

NOVA COMPOSITE

A fabulous home designed by renowned Dutch architect and furniture designer Gerrit Rietveld sits on the Puntweg, not far from the famous Kinderdijk windmills. This listed monument, with its views over the water, required a complementary pavilion made of incredibly high-quality, sustainable materials. So the entire façade was very sleekly clad with NedZink NOVA COMPOSITE panel profiles: comprehensive attention and total perfection by the zinc processing company Robertson Nederland in Lelystad, for an interesting design by Architectenbureau Ir. Arie Gelderblom BNA in Streefkerk. According to Anco van Egmond, Robertson’s Director, his company created a digital, 3D replica for the project so that every detail could be precisely engineered down to the millimetre. “The façade is built using vertical timber cladding. Horizontal NedZink NOVA COMPOSITE u-panel profiles were mounted over this cladding. This natural product is not only pleasing to the eye, it’s also sustainable and low-maintenance. Moreover, NedZink NOVA COMPOSITE is incredibly rigid and extremely flat. The production turned into true craftsmanship, with precision work and an eye for detail: the heights are all equal, the lengths are varied, the corners are mitred, the profiles are glued and even the rainwater drainage was well-thought-out. All of the zinc components were prefabricated in our workshop. This meant that it only took three weeks to apply the NedZink NOVA COMPOSITE.”
