Fresco collection by Inma Bermúdez for NOW Carpets

Rug firm NOW Carpets has launched a contemporary line of kilims, created by industrial designer Inma Bermúdez, who has collaborated with the Spanish firm for the first time with this collection.

The Fresco kilims are made of recycled polyester, and suitable for indoor and outdoor use. The handmade look of their various graphic motifs gives them their own fresh, highly personal identity. The rugs’ palette varies from vibrant, expressive tones to more autumnal, muted ones. The collection comprises three designs called Etnic, Mosaic and Triangle. NOW Carpets can custom-make all of them in different sizes and colourways.

Bermúdez founded her studio in 2007 in Valencia, with German architect Moritz Krefter joining it two years later. She had previously worked for various German design studios, participated in workshops organised by the Vitra Design Museum in southwest France and worked as an assistant to the designers Sigga Heimis, Jaime Hayón and the studio CuldeSac. What’s more, since 2007, she has collaborated regularly with Ikea and Lladró, and in 2014 designed the portable lamp Follow Me for Marset.

NOW Carpets was founded in 2010 by Javier Oscáriz. Since then, its designs — which can be customised — have proved enormously successful internationally, thanks to the high quality of their materials, the hand-crafting of their products and the truly personal service Now Carpets offers clients. What’s more, the firm has collaborated with such world-famous designers as Francesc Rifé, Christian Ghion, Claudio Colucci and Yumi Endo, among others, all of whom bring their own personal style to the company. Now Carpets exports approximately 70 per cent of its goods to Europe, the US, the Middle East, South America and Africa.
