A Spiritual Journey from Brasil to Paris

As they set out to build their first physical store in the world, the Brazilian beauty pharmaceutical giant Natura Brasil chose Paris as their first destination. Although an unorthodox choice, the Paris region is perhaps the best testing area in Europe, one that for the first time would showcase the brands true identity. ORBIT’s Noddle played an instrumental part in this monumental task.

The Maison Natura Brasil store in Paris was designed and created by focusing on the senses, aiming for a spiritual journey. The use of our Noddle spotlights as the general lighting source created a subtle play of shadows, which adds an extra dimension to the store. The interior blends technicity and vegetalisation in a modern, uncluttered setting made of wood and rough concrete.

The specific choice for using the Noddle within this light plan had another specific function as well. When confronted with the sleek and organic design, the armature reminded architectural firm PowerShovel of the fungus mycelium. For multiple ecosystems, the mycelium plays a vital role in the decomposition of plant material. As sustainability is at the core of the brand’s vision, the organic design of the lamp assists the powerful message the brand wanted to communicate to their customers: that people should treat the world as well as they treat themselves.
