THE STRENGTH IN OUR PRODUCTS

Classic collection

Each product is made of components processed separately and then joined to form frames, tops, seats, which are in turn assembled to become a chair, table, or sun lounger.

To ensure resistance to the stresses of use, it is essential to follow precise manufacturing and gluing procedures.

It all starts with checking the correct wood moisture level, which must remain within the optimal range.

The tenon must be crafted using special tools that "score" the surface to create glue accumulation zones and simultaneously ensure a strong bond between the tenon and the mortise. The tenon's dimensions are carefully designed to maximize the glued surface area.

The mortise, which receives the tenon, must be made with the right dimensional tolerance to avoid looseness and to ensure optimal glue grip.

At this point, the glue comes into play. We have selected a B3/D3 class adhesive, particularly suitable for water-resistant bonding and therefore ideal for outdoor use. It is free of solvents and formaldehyde.

Applying the glue is another delicate step, done by hand, ensuring the right amount is applied to all surfaces that will come into contact. This is a critical operation, with specific drying times that must be respected before proceeding to the frame assembly, which is carried out with dedicated machinery.

And it doesn't stop there. The assembled frames are kept for 24 hours in a temperature-controlled environment to allow the glue to cure properly.

But we don’t stop at simply following the procedure: we want to break the product—or rather, attempt to break it—in a destructive test to evaluate the bonding strength. The results show that the breakage does not occur at the glued joints, which remain firmly bonded.

In Palmar products, there is a hidden strength that ensures long-lasting durability and exceptional solidity for our customers.
