Dynamic, modular furniture solutions for working formats of the future

In recent years, office furnishing trends and its environments have gone through considerable changes. The line between home and work is becoming increasingly fine and work spaces have taken on new configurations: open plan offices continue to emerge promoting interaction and fluid exchange. Today, however, the Covid-19 health emergency has transformed such needs: office layouts need to be thought out differently and workstations redesigned. The significant change in lifestyle that we are currently experiencing makes it essential to create new reference models and new ways of interaction.

The office needs to become dynamic and its furniture solutions flexible, functional and sustainable, in order to create tailor made, modular work spaces that can be rearranged according to the needs of the moment. Meeting rooms that can be transformed into multiple workstations, informal meeting spaces obtained by niches ensuring acoustic and visual privacy, new areas for on site or remote training - these are just some of the solutions that can redefine the role of the office. In addition to creating separate spaces, desk partitions and office dividers, now more than ever, are essential for promoting social distancing ensuring healthy environments.

This separation, however, should occur within cosy areas with a high-level of aesthetic quality, where users can both concentrate and relax.

This has given rise to spaces that enable greater interconnection, while also complying with current distancing protocols; spaces that can be reconfigured with ease throughout the day and combined with remote working.

In configurating new spaces, whether at home or in the office, furniture plays a fundamental role. The goal is to select products that are able to preserve the people wellbeing, made from innovative materials that stand out for their antibacterial properties and facilitate regular cleaning and sanitising.

In order to meet these needs, Pedrali has designed a new line of versatile, innovative solutions conceived for the new scenarios and changing trends of tomorrow’s workspaces.

With the advent of a hybrid work model, based on the alternation of on site or remote work, the latter looks set to become exclusively a place for meetings and the mutual exchange of ideas.

The new Buddy Hub, designed by Busetti Garuti Redaelli, is in line with this trend, since it defines collaborative areas that can be more or less informal.

The latest addition to the Buddy family – in which a wrap-around, sound absorbing panel envelops the seat in a sort of enclosed niche – mantains the friendly and playful design of the successful collection of poufs first launched in 2017 while increasing their versatility.

The rounded shapes and bold volumes of the seat and backrest are supported by the slender lightweight frame that raises Buddy Hub off the ground, lightens its overall appearance, promoting functionality that makes cleaning and maintenance operations easier.

Available as an armchair or sofa, the functional and efficient Buddy Hub offers an isolated alcove that encourages concentration and ensures acoustic and visual privacy. It is also possible to place two units opposite each other and to join them by means of a panel to which a table can be attached, thus creating an informal meeting space or break out area.

A large seat, in polyurethane foam supported by elastic belts, and a cosy backrest offer exceptional comfort while working or when enjoying a private moment of relaxation away from the surrounding environment. This makes Buddy Hub also suitable for lounge areas and waiting rooms in the contract and hospitality sectors.

Ypsilon Connect, designed by Jorge Pensi, is a functional free standing, sound absorbing space divider. Featuring clean lines and easily placeable in a variety of settings, Ypsilon Connect is characterised by acoustic panels that are shaped around a structure formed by two die-cast aluminium bases and extruded aluminium columns.

One of the greatest strengths lies in its extensive customisation possibilities, thanks to which users can create ever new layouts and consequently manage their spaces more effectively, to create welcoming office spaces or functional training and meeting rooms, even remotely. In large open-plan environments, the panels can be aligned to each other to form a partition wall.

Ypsilon Connect is extremely versatile and can change its appearance according to needs by simply adding accessories such as whiteboards, shelves or coat hangers on any of its sides. This multifunctional panel can be also wired to enable the installation of a TV screen holder.

Always by Jorge Pensi is Temps low back, the latest version of Temps executive chair, is now characterised by a lower backrest. It is designed to seamlessly fit both in office meeting rooms and residential settings.

Pure and elegant, Temps low back has a striking feature in its height-adjustable base made in die-cast aluminium. The chair guarantees excellent ergonomics and comfort thanks to its weight-activated, synchro-tilt mechanism that is able to regulate the degree of tilting autonomously according to the user’s body weight. The seat and backrest are comfortable and warm with its polyurethane injected foam padding, cosily embracing the person sitting on the chair.

The tilting version of Ypsilon table, designed by Jorge Pensi and first launched in 2018, helps to organize modern co-working spaces by meeting their constant need for change. The stackable table with castors and tilting top, can be moved and stored away when not in use: at the cutting-edge in terms of quality, it conveys both attention to details and a high-tech element.

Toa table, designed by Robin Rizzini, is now available in a wider range of sizes. Lightweight and minimalist, the Toa table is characterised by a solid die-cast aluminium frame in a fluid geometric design, suitable to support large sized tops. Main features are the tapered bridge legs made of die-cast aluminium, which are thinner at the base and widen up towards the “T” element that supports the top. A modular table in length and width is the perfect choice for work spaces and it can also be used to create different settings. Toa is equally suitable for “light” offices, executive rooms and residential spaces, thanks to its smaller sizes. Moreover, it can be used as a desk in an elegant office, as a conference table or, in the largest version with three legs, as a boardroom table.

Another feature of this versatile and multi-tasking table facilitates the management of cables through three different types of top-access power connection units, which can be tailor made according to the customer's requirements.

Toa Folding Screen was conceived to meet the mobility and layout requirements of modern work spaces and to respond to current social distancing needs. Toa Folding Screen is a sound absorbing desktop panel designed by Robin Rizzini, that separates and defines spaces. It’s also the perfect solution for home working spacial arrangements.

Given that it is extremely lightweight, the screen can be folded with ease and moved from one place to another, creating a defined and sound-proofed workstation. Its panels can be arranged in a “U” shape to define a single 1 m workstation, in a “S” shape for two facing workstations, or in a “L” shape to extend your workspace to 1.5 m. Multiple screens can also be used in a variety of layouts to create multiple workstations on a single table.

Toa Folding Screen is characterized by a inner metal structure upholstered in fabric with a zip that makes it easy to remove, clean and maintain.

Arki-Table adjustable, launched in 2019, allows to adjust the height of the top in order to adapt to his users and their needs: two electric actuators, activated by two controllers placed under the top, move as one and allow to choose its ideal height.

Arki-Table adjustable expands with the new desk version yet further. With its practical, height-adjustable top, this version contributes to the creation of a functional and dynamic office space. Designed as a single workstation, it allows the user to work both standing up and sitting down, for optimal comfort and ergonomics.

The cable access, placed between the top and the panel, allows to anchor the sound absorbing panel upholstered in fabric which divides one desk from another. The panel can be easily removed and cleaned.

Arki-Desk and Arki-Bench enrich the Arki family. The first one offers a simplified interpretation of the collection’s distinctive features. A table that, thanks to its linear design, is particularly versatile and suitable for flexible and functional modern corporate and home offices. Arki-Bench is a linear, modular bench that represents the ideal solution both for office spaces and for common areas in the contract and hospitality sectors, for outdoor also.
