PL01 Invisible and Special Creations for the Museo del Novecento in Florence

Piazza Santa Maria Novella 10, 50123 Florence, Italy

PL01 Invisible and special pieces, finishing Calamine Steel

Florence 2014: 1,000 square meters divided into 15 rooms. Avatar Studio for Servizio delle Belle Arti of the City Town Hall has chosen the Planium PL01 Invisible system, which guarantees a totally dry laying without the use of adhesives or glue. The exact coupling between the plates means extra comfort during the museum visit and no noise to the walkway. The plates, in the size 600 mm x 1,200 mm, can always be removed and relocated elsewhere.

Planium has also made special pieces to cover the walls and to create panels and display areas; the ramps and a ticket desk have been designed, finally, the informative totem surfaces and the sound showers were created.

The Calamine Steel is the perfect dark, deep background, which matches perfectly with the exhibited works of art. The chosen material, steel, is purity, it enhances the essential and gives formal order to the environment. The soft and intense note of the Calamine finish is elegant and refined.

Calamine is a superficial rolling, that is generated during the thermal processing. It is reactive to atmospheric humidity and light and it has shades ranging from dark to light gray, from blue to light blue, with copper blooms. It can be used au naturel or stabilized in time through the application of a specific wax.
