Planium presented the new Metal-morphosis collection at dOT - Design Outdoor Taste, Milan Design Week, June 7/12 2022

The Art of Metal

Metal has been the protagonist in interpreting the "concept" of Water chosen by dOT: the raw material of Planium's creations is in fact just as natural, in all its forms, facets and types. The ductility, the colors, the changing over time and in the environment of the metals and at the same time their strength, eternity, antiquity therefore speak of water in its liquid, solid, visual, sensorial and even tactile forms.

For covering and flooring, the material in question has always had a charm that has inspired designers and architects. For both interiors and exteriors ...

Metal-morphosis is the collection of a unique series of artistic plates in copper, brass, calamine, oxidized steel with infinite and sometimes indefinite colors, with textures in which inspirations, emotions, meanings converge: works of art.

The Importance of the Ecological Discourse

In times of ecological transition, renewable energy and design that takes into account the principles of the circular economy are fundamental. In this context, cutting-edge companies and designers emerge.

Each Planium finish or installation system is designed in terms of eco-sustainability, since metal itself is the most recyclable of the materials that come to mind regarding the history of mankind. And because the installation methods are designed to be applied dry, without harmful glues and silicones.

Even the oxidations of the new collection are made paying attention to the processes and products used and therefore to the environment.

The "Water" Concept

As always, the event organized by dOT enhanced the green themes of Italian design on display at the Milanese Fuori Salone, showing the synthesis of the product creation processes.

With the theme "Water" recounted experiences in the contract sector, proposing "nature experiences" solutions. Planium was a leading exhibitor inside the Cloister of the church of San Marco in the heart of Brera, the usual home of dOT.

"Water" as a source of life, re-birth, nourishment, well-being, movement, lifeblood full of charm and emotion, fluidity, transparency but also light and color that is reflected in it. All in Milan, a city crossed by canals and which owes a lot to this natural element. The square, once part of the San Marco dock, where the water flowed into an urban port, was also the gateway to the Naviglio Martesana in Milan and the connection with the canal system of the inner circle.
