Dressing with Metal
PLANIUM is an inexhaustible source of creations by unique artists who interpret Metal in all its potential. Continuous and repeated experiments lead us to investigate the materials, their characteristics, the details that make them special. Steel, Copper, Bass evolve giving rise to new scenarios of color and creativity. Here is the Metal-morphosis collection, where surfaces and textures take on a new look.
Also for this edition of the Milan Design Week, PLANIUM has given life to the projects of unique artists who interpret Metal in all its potential. The first collaboration we want to talk about is the one with Maurizio Galante & Tal Lancman, with whom PLANIUM has made true suspended dreams come true.
The Realization
Shadow Light, an unexpected suspension, develops and develops its features from the Drago Light project of a few years ago, which materialized in our corporate reality.
Halfway between Design and Haute Couture, from the latter comes the idea that light can be dressed in different elements which, linked together, are able to compose a wonderful dress.
Laces with antiqued profiles obtained from PLANIUM through the carvings and oxidations of the brass give a delicate and light appearance to the structure that stands out in the center of the space.
Brass is the material chosen to express the preciousness of the contours of Shadow Light. The warm and golden tones amplify the light that expands around. Brass takes on marine veins, surprising in the oxidized version. Then it will be pleasant to immerse yourself in mottling and fantasy.
The elliptical and spherical shapes have been designed to offer two variants of the same unique design product. It is possible to combine the two formats to double the elegance and refinement in the environment.
Suitable for exclusive contexts in terms of taste and inclination, Shadow Light is a luminous object that becomes discovery.
The design proposed by PLANIUM is always made from recyclable and eco-friendly materials. It will be very simple to assemble each component of Shadow Light, thanks to the attached instruction kit.
The Inspiration
Presented during the last Milan Design Week, Shadow Light is a creation by the designers Maurizio Galante & Tal Lancman.
Maurizio Galante is one of the most admired Parisian couturiers. Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, Tal Lancman is a trend forecasting analyst and designer. With a transversal focus, the vision of the two creatives underlines the meeting point between the different disciplines of design, architecture, fashion and art. Their creations are "objects of desire", "conversation pieces" intended to arouse emotions. “Starting from light and its shadow, we imagined this luminous object as a magic lantern to compose and build. Each element is worked like a modern lace using new corrosion techniques. The effect created by the light through the various elements inhabits the space with magical shadows.”
