Planium Reinvents the World of Retail
Planium by Terenzi Srl was born from the necessity to renew
Needs change and often, as in the case of the public sector, intended uses. Trends change cyclically and we have to be ready and timely in interpreting them. It is almost always required to even anticipate the times.
For the world of retail, where goods and services to be marketed are quickly replaced, it is usually not so immediate to offer novelties also to the exhibition scenario in which one operates.
Planium is the brand that provides solutions for the immediate replacement of floors and coverings.
Wonderful metal sheets can cover obsolete and damaged floors, without having to dismantle them, using our self-laying systems. Magnetic or pressure fasteners will make the floor installable without the use of glues or silicones. The versatility of these systems is extreme: the individual elements can be infinitely positioned and removed.
Available in square, rectangular, triangular and hexagonal formats, the metals in the collection will give any space a new and surprising look.
In addition to the standard formats, cuts and shapes can be established on request, based on the designed project.
Stainless steel, stainless concrete, copper, brass, calamine, Luna texture and oxidized surfaces: the palette is rich in countless customization possibilities.
Any examples?
- For the well-known NIKE brand, in the Oxford Street Flagship Store in London, Planium created a 1,100 m² dry-laid flooring with mechanical hooking on the raised floor. The installation system allowed for rapid, functional, comfortable installation, with the absence of harmful glues, and was immediately walkable. The tones of the CALAMINE slabs in square format, 600 x 600 mm, have been accentuated and highlighted by the protective surface treatment. Against this dark background, the sports clothing and accessories, innovative in design and technology, stand out, offering themselves to the store's customers in an attractive way.
The detail of the angular screw of the Planium SM02 EVOLUTION installation system and the material of the slabs, in terms of aesthetics and technology, act as a harmonious counterpoint to the "House of Innovation" concept established by NIKE for this location in London, but also in New York, Shanghai ... The Flagship Stores will not only be shops for the sale of the brand's products but also service hubs (locations for events, locations for the supply of tailor-made shoes for athletes and players sponsored by the brand).
- After the British success, Planium renews the collaboration with Nike for another prestigious opening. In the historic building at 79 Avenue des Champs-Élysées in Paris, the famous American brand, leader in the sportsware market, inaugurated its new showcase in Europe.
The Planium floor fits perfectly into the Nike context in which there are 85,000 kilograms of sustainable material woven into the fabric of the store design and exhibition structures.
The space is entirely dedicated to retail, but it is not a simple store, but a real "House of Innovation", where the sport of the future is the protagonist. In a context, therefore, without equal in the sector, Planium covers the floors with its most enigmatic and fascinating finish, Calamine, and gives life to a scenario of extreme elegance.
The SM02 EVOLUTION system is made up of Calamine metal finishing sheets coupled with a sound-absorbing rubber underlay, which gives total comfort to foot traffic and muffles any noise. The visible corner screws give a decidedly casual and hi-tech touch, perfect for a contemporary, urban or sporty setting. The corner fixing with screw, between plate and plate, is firm but at the same time reversible if necessary: an ideal solution in terms of practicality, sustainability and well-being (no harmful glue) and to speed up installation as much as possible. The attachment of the plates, measuring 600x600 mm, is mechanical, very rapid, stable, reversible, the Calamine plates are recyclable and the flooring is produced with production processes with the lowest possible environmental impact (the plates are cut with millimetric precision with laser technology fiber).
Calamine is an interesting material due to its aesthetic and physical characteristics. Its name derives from the surface oxidation layer that is generated during the hot rolling of a steel plate; this therefore takes on a more or less homogeneous or mottled dark appearance depending on the batch of material processed. Each Calamine Planium slab is unrepeatable in its chromatic shades, it "lives" over time a bit like wood, becoming an integral part of the context in which it is inserted.
The natural recyclability, the dark, changeable and unique tones, the particular aesthetic that makes it perfect for both historical environments and contemporary spaces are the peculiarities for which this material is chosen for current interior design and architecture projects.
