Bioclimatic technology fot the eco-resort Masseria della Volpe

In the province of Syracuse, located in the countryside of Val di Noto, a refined resort combines its ancient origins with modern values of eco-sustainability and design.

Masseria della Volpe was in fact born from a 19th century estate, used for the harvesting and processing of olives and citrus fruits, now skilfully renovated under the sign of environmental protection and respect for the surrounding territory. An element that is expressed in every area of the accommodation: from the minimized use of plastic to the use of clean energy, from zero kilometer products to the architectural choices that characterize the luxury resort.

For the furnishing of its outdoor spaces, Masseria della Volpe has also chosen to pursue the eco-sustainable objective through the installation of five bioclimatic structures signed by Pratic, placed to cover the outdoor areas of the spa and the charming restaurant overlooking the pool.

Opera, this is the model chosen by the owners of the Masseria della Volpe, in fact, allows to reduce the consumption for ventilation, heating, air conditioning and lighting, thanks to its bioclimatic technology that, through a cover with sunshade blades adjustable up to 140 degrees, allows to regulate shading and natural ventilation, always obtaining the maximum climatic comfort.

An eco-sustainable structure also in its execution: made entirely of aluminium, Opera – like the entire Pratic range – is produced without the use of harmful pollutants. Even during the painting phase, Pratic uses only safe and recoverable raw materials, which are processed inside a zero environmental impact plant, where any desired colour can be achieved. In fact, there are two shades chosen for the pergolas of Masseria della Volpe. The sought after “organic” inspired restaurant can now count on four Opera pergolas in a brilliant shade of white, similar to that of the light and warm stone that characterizes the entire structure. The choice of colours allows Opera’s modules to fit naturally into the architecture of the farm, creating 36 new place settings that guests can enjoy at any time of the year and day. Thanks to the Slide Glass perimeter windows, it is in fact possible to shield the internal environment from bad weather and cold temperatures, while the soft lighting of the Led Line makes its use pleasant even in the evening hours.

Opera’s single module is dove-coloured, installed to frame and protect the hydromassage outside the spa. An environment immersed in nature and made even more welcoming by the elegant bioclimatic Pratic pergola which, with its Zip Raso vertical closures and dimmable LED lighting, creates that soft and private atmosphere, ideal for dedicating oneself to wellness.

“We were looking for an outdoor structure that would allow us to use our outdoor spaces in a more functional way and that would, at the same time, enhance the clean and essential aesthetics of the farm – explains Vincenzo Romano, resort director – Once we had a look at Pratic’s avant-garde proposals, we were immediately impressed by the high quality of its pergolas and the impeccable design that distinguishes them. An aspect particularly appreciated also by our guests who today, thanks to Pratic’s bioclimatic covers, can enjoy an even more immersive and open air stay”.
