What if the cosiest and most functional space of the house was not inside but outside where you could live surrounded by nature even on cold winter days? In Sweden, along a charming cove of the Baltic Sea, one single module of the bioclimatic pergola Opera by Pratic has been enough to take the place of the ordinary living room, thus becoming the “open air” core of a modern house and of the everyday activities of its family.

Installed on a wide wooden patio, the protection was originally designed by the specialized dealer Pergola aiming at decorating the green area and at creating a comfortable shelter against the wind blowing strongly along the coast in any season and almost every day. A structure that would allow the outdoors to be used longer the and, for this reason, equipped with the perimeter sliding closures Slide Glass 60, certified for their resistance against rain, noise, dust and, obviously, wind.

The perfectly transparent finish without any technical visible part of Pratic glass walls allows to preserve a 360 degree view on the surroundings and, at the same time, to protect the inside of the pergola. The interior spaces can be heated, if required, by a system of infrared lamps and refined fire pits, specifically realized by the dealer.

With regard to the zenith, the aluminium sunshade blades of the covering, adjustable from zero to 140 degrees, are designed for creating the best climate conditions, just using sunlight and air recirculation. The handy remote-controlled operation provides also for the complete closing of the blades that, in case of bad weather, convey rainwater along the gutters inside the uprights and under the structure.

The natural sensation of wellbeing instilled by the outdoor space has immediately and spontaneously revolutionised the owners’ routine, becoming one of the more used and appreciated places in the house for conviviality, even during the freezing Swedish winter. The furniture chosen for the open air living room changes according to the need: a living room with sofas and small table for relaxation, or a practical dining room to receive the guests or simply to enjoy breakfast or dinner surrounded by the beautiful view.

What remains unaltered is the comfort of Opera, improved further by Led Line perimeter lighting, allowing you to enjoy the outdoors when the Nordic days become shorter, and always with a customised atmosphere thanks to the lights adjustable in intensity and colour.

What stands out most while looking at the landscape is the colour chosen for the profiles and the blades of Opera. The charcoal grey shade, contrasting with the flooring and the light furniture, enhances the beauty of the space thanks to a palette of neutral tones in harmony with the natural landscape. A detail that, on snowy days, transforms the pergola into a warm frame on the white landscape.
