DESIGN CRUSH: CRAYCOLLECTIVE

A new design collaboration born from the Scandinavian frost

What happens when you regroup five young Swedish design talents under one roof? We don’t really have the words, but it’s not far from magic. CrayCollective is a Stockholm-based design collaboration consisting of five former Beckman’s College of Design students: Andreas Frienholt, Lotta Lampa, Lisa Berkert Wallard, Amanda Karsberg and Dennis Graben. Their first exhibit took place during Stockholm Design Week 2014 and revealed an intriguing assemblage. We liked it all, but we have a particularly major design crush on these funky, fun, colorful vases by Andreas Frienholt and Lisa Berkert Wallard.

Formed in soft plastic molds, the material dictated the final shape rather than the designers controlling the overall outcome. The vases are made of Jesmonite and pigment, and the pastel pallet definitely scratches a certain nostalgic itch.
