MYROOM ULTRA-ADAPTABLE HOTEL ROOM CONCEPT

An innovative hospitality solution from Muzéo & Somfy

The novel MyRoom concept combines a selection of unlikely partners. French company Somfy is specialized in blinds, shutters, alarms and gates, while Muzéo is an expert in art prints and frames. With the help of Maud Bury (an interior designer that spent ten years under the tutelage of Philippe Starck!), Somfy and Muzéo went about designing the ultimate customizable hotel room.

MyRoom offers a large variety of different atmospheres that adapt to the occupant’s mood and activity. Tablet technology lets users easily adjust and pick their own ambiance. Want some instant romance? No problem! And thanks to Somfy’s motorized blinds and curtains, users can also play with simple lighting effects.

Perhaps most surprising is that the bed in the MyRoom actually folds into the wall, which leaves more space for relaxing, working or simply dancing around in circles. Bold, iconic design prints from Muzéo add life to the space both in frames around the room and on the blinds and curtains.

We got to check out the concept at Equip’Hotel last week where Somfy and Muzéo demonstrated the potential of the design. The MyRoom concept truly offers hotels a new level of customer satisfaction by providing guidelines for an entirely adaptable space that perfectly marries design and technology.
