DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT: JEAN-MARIE MASSAUD

A discreet French design giant

A veteran of the design scene, Jean-Marie Massaud has been racking up awards and honors for twenty years. His Studio Massaud has become a permanent fixture of the design world, the world of architecture, the world of urban planning…the list could go on. Yes, M. Massaud does it all, and he does it exceptionally well. Clean and simple, his visionary yet universal creations stand the test of time, and his collaborations with Foscarini, B&B Italia, Axor Hansgrohe, Dior, Cassina and Toyota, attest to his design dexterity. And if you need further proof of his multiple talents, Massaud recently completed a collection that is particularly dear to our (southern-French) hearts.

Despite never before having worked with clay, he was invited to create a collection for the famous Poterie Ravel (their pottery adorns the fabulous MuCEM in Marseille!). The resulting ULURU collection is perfectly in line with Massaud’s design philosophy, yet remains purely provençale.
