Talented sisters with a clear vision

Atelier Areti is comprised of Gwendolyn and Guillane Kerschbaumer, sisters with impressive credentials and loads of talent. Greek for virtue, goodness, righteousness, Areti represents the team’s design philosophy – a philosophy which eschews the importance of objects to focus on the importance of beautiful and well-designed objects. Their goal is not just to create but rather to shape aesthetically pleasing designs that will endure. Drawing upon Gwendolyn’s background in sculpture, their 2013 collection, which was presented at Designjunction, is a “sculptural exploration based on the arrangement of varying simple shapes such as wedges, circles and arcs.” As always, function remains central to the form of their designs. Definitely a talented pair that keeps us wanting more.
