DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT: CLAESSON KOIVISTO RUNE

The Stockholm Furniture Fair is over, but we still can't get enough of these guys!

We’re not yet two months into 2014, and the Stockholm-based architecture and design firm Claesson Koivisto Rune has already presented a plethora of new projects! We caught up with them at the Stockholm Furniture Fair to have a little chat about friendship, inspiration and their design philosophy.

Mårten Claesson, Eero Koivisto and Ola Rune met at university and were friends for two years before forming their own studio. None of them have actually ever worked for another architect! Indeed, they credit their long-time friendship for the exceptional chemistry and cohesion that permeates their dialogue.

Together now for almost twenty years, the studio takes on both architectural and design products, switching between disciplines with impressive ease.

At SFF, they debuted a collection for Matsuso, a set of bowls for Design House Stockholm, a table for Offecct, an addition to their W131 lights and more. We love the FIVE collection for Matsuso with its soft yet structured continuity that combines the best of both Japanese and Scandinavian design.
