bauhaus AG berlin clad with parametric panels by müller reimann architekten

home-improvement retail chain ‘bauhaus AG’ — not to be confused with the school or associated styles – has opened an expansive 22,000m2 warehouse-style storefront near 129a kurfürstendamm in berlin, germany.

design of the structure was provided by local firm müller reimann architekten, who gave the façade an extravagant cladding that’s nearly impossible to miss.

the façade is composed of parametric tray panelling by international umbrella group 3A composites under their alucobond brand. siding spans all 22,000m2 of the structure, giving it a dynamic aesthetic that shifts depending on weather conditions, time of day, and natural light. müller reimann says, ‘the façade’s impact is due to the combination and overlaying of different elements: reflective surfaces, advertising panels, glazed conservatory, and planted greenery.’ ‘bauhaus AG’ is now open.
